Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How long do our sessions last?
Typically I would ask that you be able to block off about 1 hour from the start of our agreed upon meeting time. There are times that it might not last the full hour but rest assured that I will deliver the discussed amount of photos.
Where do the sessions take place?
I am based out of Long Beach, California so the majority of our sessions will be located in the surrounding areas of Los Angeles, the Beach Cities, Long Beach, and Orange County. If you would prefer a more intimate session, we can work out of your house of a studio (additional fees may be required)
What should I wear to my portrait session?
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable! So don't change up your style or wear something different than usual. Portraits are about capturing who you are. Here are some easy tips to make sure you look amazing:
Avoid stark or neon colors like solid black/pure white/neon. These can leave you looking pale or add a color cast to your skin. You can still wear black (if you're like me, that's the color of half your wardrobe!), but add a different color layer or accent piece to break it up a little.
Avoid busy patterns or fine lines. You want the focus to be on you and your personality, not your clothes. Anything too distracting can take away from that.
If you're having a family session done, try to coordinate, but not match identically. You should pick no more than three main colors, and one accent (i.e. grey, ivory, navy, with a soft yellow accent) and try to stay within those colors. Try to avoid too many patterns that can take away from the main subject - you and your family!
A good way to see if your outfits work together is to lay them out on the bed so that you can see them all at once. Feel free to send me a picture of them if you want additional input!
Neutrals (brown, grey, ivory, navy, beige, olive) = Awesome + Timeless
I am very self conscious and really hate my [fill in the blank]. Is there anything we can do about this?
I understand that we may not like everything about ourselves. You don’t have to be a professional model to look amazing. If you have any concerns about what you find unflattering we can discuss it before the session so that I can be aware of it and focus on the parts that you love the most about yourself.
What happens if there is inclement weather? Or global pandemic? Or other act of God?
No worries! A refund can be issued if any of the above situations (or any other situation uncontrollable by you) ends up happening. Unfortunately, cancellations on your part will not warrant a refund.
What happens after the session?
Approximately 2 weeks after the photoshoot you will be given access to a password protected online gallery of our session together where you can choose your set of digital photos.
Ok I am ready to book. What do I do next?
Awesome! I’m glad you are choosing to work with me. Send me a message so that we can come up with a game plan for your session. Looking forward to collaborating with you to capture these fleeting memories.
